Dark Earth Carbon (DEC) is a Tanzanian company that produces biochar in a large pyrolysis plant in Iringa, Tanzania, using wood waste from forest management and wood processing companies. They use the biochar as fertilizer and are committed to climate protection and improving the quality of life through carbon storage and enhanced soil fertility. They are planning a second pyrolysis plant in Mafinga.

Geodyn Solution, a U.S.-based company, operates in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, managing and treating waste tires through pyrolysis. They convert waste tires into valuable byproducts such as pyrolysis oil, carbon black, and steel wire.

Nishati Mix is an innovative Tanzanian initiative that utilizes plastic pyrolysis to convert plastic and organic waste into usable energy, including electricity and cooking gas. The project was developed by students at the University of Dar es Salaam.
